Residential propane use consists mostly of home and water heating, as well as clothes drying and cooking.

Home heating is the number one use of propane consumption. Therefore, the propane tank size will depend primarily on the domestic heating load requirements and climate conditions for the region.

Commercial/Industrial Propane Tank Sizes

A multitude of industries encompass commercial propane use. In addition, commercial propane has a variety of uses from heating to fleet fueling.

Tank size varies and is solely dependent on application and usage requirements. Therefore, the size and number of propane tanks installed for commercial and industrial applications will depend primarily on the volume usage.

During the planning stages of installation, tank dimensions and size details are increasingly important. Also, dimensions can vary depending on the location of the propane tank.

Above ground tank dimensions will depend the varying propane tank sizes and capacities.  Conversely, with underground propane tank installation, the tank dimensions will determine the measurements of the hole for excavation.
